Finishing Skid Steer Operator/Equipment Mover

Strathcona Septic Tank Services is seeking a skilled equipment operator to join our team!

We primarily provide residential and industrial septic and water services in the Sherwood Park & Edmonton Area. Our construction team works on installing, repairing, and replacing septic and water systems, holding tanks, etc. for various residential and commercial customers in Strathcona County, Edmonton, and surrounding area.

Our ideal candidate is a strong team player who has good communication skills and is a professional and reliable individual. The nature of the work we do is dynamic and often fast-paced, requiring adaptability and a team-oriented approach to ensure our customers’ needs are met.

You will be part of a professional team of skilled individuals involved with installing, repairing, and maintaining rural water & sewer systems. You have a passion for completing projects to a “work of art” status. Your inability to accept sub-standard work will define you as a potential leader. You are an enthusiastic self starter who thrives in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team environment. You are known for your can-do attitude and for your creative approach to troubleshooting and addressing operational challenges. You have strong attention to detail and can advocate for the quality of your work. You make safety a priority and can identify and proactively minimize safety hazards.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for moving equipment, parts, and supplies to and from sites. This will include backhoes, trackhoes, track loaders, skidsteers, etc.
  • You will also be responsible for in field greasing of equipment and in field hours tracking of all equipment.
  • You will be responsible for site clean up, achieving finished grades and spread of site finishing materials.
  • You will be responsible for completing all applicable health & safety documents including FLHA’s, maintenance logs and final site documentation.
  • You will be expected to work effectively in a team environment, understanding that your responsibilities are critical to the success of the team.
  • You can expect that this position will be full-time and will require reliable daily attendance with overtime occurring periodically.

What you need to succeed in this role:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in finishing skid steer / track loader work.
  • A class 3 drivers’ license is desirable.
  • A valid and clean driving record with a class 5 drivers’ license is a minimum requirement.
  • H2S, WHMIS, First Aid any other related safety tickets are desirable.
  • Adequate physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

Where it could take you in the future: Class 3 Driver, Service Technician Apprentice, Supervisory/ management role, or Project Manager.
